Helen has now been involved as a Markida (leader) of Israeli dancing In Melbourne for nearly 25 years, graduating from the AADE (Ausralian Association of Dance Education) Teachers Course. She is proactive and turns her visions for HORA into reality. With this foresight and under her leadership, HORA has evolved and developed to become the most professional and popular Israeli Dance group in Melbourne today. Helen has been instrumental in the establishment and success of Israeli dancing generally in Melbourne. She travels regularly overseas and to Israel in order to keep her finger on the pulse of the worldwide Israeli dance scene. With her expertise, dynamic personality, wonderful teaching and dance style, she is an inspirational leader of Israeli Folk Dancing, and has made HORA the vibrant, energetic, continually evolving activity that we all love so much.

SUE APPEL
Sue's addiction to Israeli dance and music began more than 20 years ago. With her school teaching background, she has developed extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of IFD, and travels regularly to Israel broadening her dancing horizons. Being a passionate, loyal and dedicated member of staff, she has become Helen's 2IC (second in charge), helping her run HORA behind the scenes and upfront, including looking after the school in Helen's absences. Over the years Sue has taught children and teenagers in schools and private classes, and has also been involved in creating many choreographies for special events, speech nights, chagim, Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, Mt Scopus presentation balls & weddings. She is successful teaching adult classes of all levels, beginners to advanced for many years, and has gained an excellent reputation for her many skills.
........................................................................................................................................................................Diane's love of Rikudei Am began in her youth movement days, and rekindled in the late 80's. Her passion and ability to express herself through the Israeli music and dance was infectious, and proved an asset when she began teaching in 1995. Her energetic manner, outgoing personality and warmth has endeared her to all, and she has become sought after to lead dancing at functions of all types.

LILI HAMPEL
Lili began IFD in 1988 with a 5 year break in 1990. With her teaching background, she later assisted in children's classes, Yachad classes and the Thursday night Hora class, where she specialised in line dances. Lili has a great dance memory, confident dance style and travels overseas regularly to enhance her dance experience.

Helen has had a love affair with Israeli dance since her youth movement days in Habonim. She resumed dancing again in the late 80's, and began teaching children and teenagers in 1990, followed by classes in Kew for some time. Helen's special passion is acting and she has written stand-up routines and skits for countless Hora camps and special events. Her unique talent and skills are an immeasurable asset to the Hora family.

Les commenced IFD in 1990 and started teaching dances in 1994. He has a special place as the only male member of the staff. His extensive travels to overseas camps mainly in USA, have broadened his skills and knowledge, and given him the opportunity to bring back and teach dances directly from the source. His unique achievement is to set up a website of Israeli Folk Dance Videos which has become very popular throughout the world of IFD.

Sara commenced IFD in 1989 and soon began dancing 4 to 5 times per week immersing herself in the music and dance, and expressing herself with her graceful dance style and boundless energy. She's been involved in teaching beginners, a challenging and growing experience which allowed her to share her love of IFD with others.

CHANA SHUVALY
Chana was introduced to Israeli Dancing in 1991, started teaching in 1993, and has taught classes of various levels, with her memory for dances and her expressive dance style. In 1996 she combined her love of IFD with her other passion, and started "Shir Ve'rikud" a song and dance class, translating and transliterating the Hebrew songs of the dances into English. She was approached by Aura Lipski to start a website hebrewsongs.com which has grown and become a reliable database known world wide.

LILLY ZAYON
Lilly, who started IFD in 1989 and has been teaching since 1991, has been instrumental in the establishment of Israeli Dance classes in Kew. She has been involved in our school since her days in Doncaster many years ago, and is experienced in teaching multi-level classes. She has taught many pre-Simcha groups, and has led dancing at many functions. Lilly has a solid, down to earth style, she is confident, reliable and shows care and concern for her dancers.
